Flippy the Canadian Beaver Mascot - Sept 2009

During September and October 2009 the 1st Langford Beavers had a special visitor from Canada.
Flippy is the Mascot of the 2nd Beaver Ban B Colony, from Nova Scotia in Canada.
Flippy is touring lots of Beaver Colony’s in the UK to see what Beavers get up to in the UK.
We took Flippy collecting Conkers and he watched the Langford Beavers have their annual conker fight. Each lodge played matches to determine the Lodge winner, then the semi finals and finals were fought. In the Final, which was a close run thing, Lewis came out the eventual winner, beating Jake 9 hits to 6 (out of a possible 10 !) Both winner and runner up received a certificate from Brown Bear for their efforts.
The Beavers then coloured in some Beaver message pages to send to the Canadian Beavers.
It’s been great fun having Flippy around and we wish him well on his travels throughout the UK.
